The organizers of the Golden Globes, along with the celebrity audience, know exactly what Gervais is going to do at this point, and embrace it. But the Golden Globes and Ricky Gervais seem to have developed a symbiotic relationship, both receiving a massive popularity boost from the perceived controversy. And it must be said, the Golden Globes is certainly more memorable with Gervais on stage, even if he’s become an official part of the package.
