The federal government still picks up 90% or more of Medicaid expansion through 2020. Supporters of Medicaid expansion see the Health Affairs study as yet another signal that broadening such health coverage is a good idea. These health insurers will be reporting their 2019 annual and fourth quarter earnings in the coming weeks and most continue to see growth thanks in part to Medicaid expansion.
