But that alone doesn't account for its massive success, drawing twice as many viewers on Twitch as PUBG despite that game coming to market sooner and dominating conversation about the battle royale genre in 2017. The stripped down nature of Fortnite combined with the fast gameplay makes Fortnite more immediately gratifying, if somewhat less complex from a mechanical standpoint.
