AdsCatch a more mature and violent Daredevil on Disney+Highly lauded superhero series “Daredevil” will get a revival on Disney Plus, the mega-corporation announced Thursday. Historically, Disney has kept its more adult-oriented content to its more adult-oriented production divisions like Touchstone Pictures (did you know they were owned by Disney? ), which released films like “Good Morning, Vietnam,” “Armageddon” and “Con Air.”We’ve seen signs of this before: Disney Plus has brought over the Marvel shows (formerly of Netflix) that don’t shy away from violence, and there’s even different tiers of service within the streaming site, including a new suite of parental controls. They’ve also offered traditionally adult-oriented programs like “The Simpsons,” and the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which ends with the deaths of every main character. Props to the brand for capitalizing on Millennials’ love of Disney as we get ever older, but it could also signal a sea change in how the brand will be viewed by… pretty much everyone in the years to come.
