ISIS began their attacks on Saturday by striking a Syrian Arab Army post in the Al-Sawanah area near the phophate mines. Following this attack, the Islamic State stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the Deir Ezzor Governorate town of Mohassan. During this barrage of missiles, the militants accused the Syrian Arab Army of using chlorine gas against them. The Syrian Arab Army would then storm Kabani’s southern axis in a bid to enter the town. The Syrian Arab Army had previously tried to capture the Huwayz on two separate attempts before finally fracturing the jihadist lines along the Hama-Idlib axis.
