The man at the centre of the murder was a traffic police officer, Andrew Omwenga. Angered that his lover was having a secret affair with the ODM MP, Omwenga fired bullets that would mark the end of their lives. The murder of the MP and a female police officer represents the extent to which a man can go to protect the woman he loves. In 2009, the then Nakuru High Court judge David Maraga delivered a ruling on the the murder of Too. Though his brother Benjamin Lang'at is now the Ainamoi MP, the dead of the former MP shocked the country.
