For eliminated teams, the end of an NBA season couldn’t come sooner. Sure, it’s unfair and arbitrary, but the decision to lap off what constitutes a fifth of the regular season was a necessary evil to salvage the 2019-2020 season for logistical and safety reasons. So, before we prognosticate how the regular season might play out or even if there will be a play-in for the eighth seed in each conference, let’s do sort of a requiem for the dear departed for 2019-2020 season of the NBA. Charlotte HornetsThe former Bobcats finished the regular season with a 23-42 record, seven games back of the eighth placed Orlando Magic. Cleveland CavaliersAt least they got an NBA title in the second season of LeBron James’ return to The Land.
