Mr Ekniti said on Monday that the shift creates a “more level playing field” for Thai goods. Shifts in global trade patterns are also expected to drive foreign direct investment and manufacturing to Thailand. Applications for investment incentives rose 68% last year, and the government plans to fast-track approvals to speed up capital inflows.
