Troops from the army's Ratchamanu Task Force spotted the men carrying their bags high while wading across the river into Thai territory at Ban Wang Kaew village 2 in tambon Mae Pa of Mae Sot district. The detainees were handed over to Tak immigration officials for legal processing. Authorities said illegal border crossings along the Thai Myanmar border continued unabated, particularly foreign nationals fleeing online scam operations in Shwe Kokko, opposite Wang Kaew village of Mae Sot district.
