The king then placed a yellow sash around the queen, who lay on the floor before him — just as she had done during their surprise wedding ceremony days earlier. When it was over he stood up and scattered flower petals on the carpet in front of members of his family who also prostrated and bowed, including his 14-year-old son Dipangkorn.
