Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha said Thailand must get on top of protests as he opened a special parliamentary session to address months of democracy rallies. Prayut, a former military chief who staged a coup in 2014, has faced more pressure lately from many thousands of people demanding he resign. "Although the people have the freedom to protest ... authorities need to control the illegal protests," said Prayut, pictured. The protesters' demands are not on the agenda, but the two-day parliamentary session will discuss an incident where protesters flashed three-finger salutes - a symbol of their movement - at Queen Suthida's motorcade. The opposition Pheu Thai party argued yesterday that Prayut's resignation would "solve all problems."
