Texas sent two freshmen linebackers home prior to Tuesday’s Alamo Bowl for unspecified violations of team rules. The school announced Monday that David Gbenda and Byron Vaughns would not participate when the Longhorns (7-5) face No. 11 Utah (11-2) at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Vaughns appeared in seven games this season and registered 14 tackles and one forced fumble. Vaughns redshirted last season and was a three-star signee in the 2018 class.
