Days before Uber's self-driving car division was set to face off with Google's in court, accusations from a former Uber employee have sent the case off the rails. In a California courtroom today, testimony from a former Uber employee apparently caused "chaos" during the run-up to a trial set to begin next week between Waymo, the self-driving unit of Google parent company Alphabet, and Otto, the self-driving wing of Uber. In January of 2016, Levandowski left Google to found the self-driving car company Otto, which Uber acquired in August of that year. Uber and Waymo have been reached out to for comment, which will be included here when and if available.
