DETROIT (WWJ) — A bill in Michigan would put in place new requirements for older drivers to keep their driver’s licenses. In the months afterward, Thexton said he reached out to State Sen. Rosemary Bayer’s office to push for changes to Michigan’s laws. But a new bill introduced by Bayer shows the changes that Thexton has been pushing for. The proposed bill introduced earlier this month would require drivers 75 and older to take a written knowledge test, a vision test and a road test every four years. For drivers 85 and older, the tests would be required every year.
