With all the offensive firepower the Blue Jays have in their everyday lineup, it’s easy to take Teoscar Hernández for granted. Hernández has been on a tear lately, riding an eight-game hitting streak with three homers, 12 RBIs and 17 hits over that span. While Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Marcus Semien, Bo Bichette and Springer seem to get most of the attention, Hernández has proven to be just as crucial to the Jays’ success this season. “The funny thing about it, not too many people talk about Teoscar Hernández,” Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said after Hernández went 3-for-4 with a homer in Sunday’s 8-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners. The Jays are going to need all the production they can get out of Hernández as they attempt to play catch-up in the standings.
