Tension at Manjeri, Changaramkulam - News Summed Up

Tension at Manjeri, Changaramkulam

The 48-hour trade union strike evoked partial response across the district on the first day on Tuesday even as attempts to force closure of shops led to tension at Manjeri and Changaramkulam. Tension prevailed for a few hours at Manjeri and Changaramkulam as trade unions remained adamant on downing shutters. The police had to convince the trade union leaders of the importance of maintaining law and order in order to ease the situation. Although private vehicles and some autorickshaws plied, public transport vehicles, including Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, remained off the road. When government offices registered poor attendance, all government and aided schools remained closed.
