Tenet screams old-fashioned spy movie. There’s Michael Caine, aka Harry Palmer from The Ipcress File, sitting in a swanky city restaurant delivering the classic Cold War era line: “I gather you have an interest in a certain Russian national?” There’s the central narrative about an exceptional super-operative, played by John David Washington (from BlacKkKlansman), who is recruited into a secret agency, called Tenet, in the hope of averting World War Three (how very Bond of him).
