Teenager who beat president's security to be released

A senior police officer in Nairobi told the Star on Sunday that besides the president's security lapse, there was no evidence that the teenager had bad intentions. "We are still interrogating him to know exactly how it happened because it has baffled the president's security that such a breach can happen so carelessly," the officer said. The teenager told the police that he only wanted to ask the president to help pay for his university education. A 19-year-old orphan, Dickens Otieno, who beat president Uhuru Kenyatta's security detail during the Madaraka day celebrations will not be charged in court. According to the officer, Otieno entered Afraha stadium at around 8am and approached the president at 1 pm.
