Basanti Kumari (17), daughter of Banarsi Bhuiyan, had suddenly disappeared from her ancestral residence three years ago. The teenager, on promise of marriage, was trafficked by one Sanjay Chaudhary from Jharkhand, who sold her to Pawan Singh of Patan village in Rajasthan for two lakh rupees. Soon, she began to be tortured by Singh in his house, who would tell her that he bought her for ₹ 200000.
