Athletics New Zealand have dangled a huge carrot in front of teenage sprint sensation Edward Osei-Nketia. The throw bettered her personal best of 17.10m by more than a metre and put her over the IAAF entry mark of 18.00m. McCartney convincingly met the IAAF entry standard of 4.56m in January, clearing 4.85m at the Potts Classic in the Hawke’s Bay. Barber, the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games silver medallist, has been selected for the 20km race walk.
