Team NZ to be compensated for regatta disputeUSA TODAY SPORTS Team New Zealand, skippered by Glenn Ashby, competes in the Louis Vuitton World Series on Lake Michigan off Chicago in June. Team New Zealand is reportedly in line to receive a potential multi-million dollar pay-out from the America's Cup organising body after winning a dispute over a breach of contract. The impasse originated in April last year, when the America's Cup Events Authority reneged on an agreement awarding Auckland hosting rights of the America's Cup qualifiers, which were originally scheduled for February 2017. NZME reported an arbitration panel assembled in July to hear the case. Estimates of a possible compensation deal have been put as high as $5 million, however it is not practical to host the qualifying regatta in Auckland.
