The cricket team of the St Andrew’s High School in Bloemfontein reigned supreme in the 2019 Coca-Cola T20 Schools Challenge for the Free State, winning the series a second time in a row. The in-form team beat tough opponents – the team of the Sasolburg High School, Voortrekker High School and Grey College – in the provincial final on 9 and 10 February in Bloemfontein. St Andrew’s beat Sasolburg High by 100 runs, Voortrekker High School by 176 runs and Grey College by 3 wickets. Ruan scored 100, Corne posted 58 (not out) and Henre 56 against Voortrekker High School. This year’s provincial final was played on a round-robin basis, in which Grey College, Goudveld-Hoërskool, Kroonstad Hub, St Andrew’s, Voortrekker High School and Sasolburg High competed.
