Principal Dr Md Abdul Latif Mia, a brother of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, labelled the protests as a ‘conspiracy’. The teachers, officials and other staff of the college chanted slogans, and boycotted classes and other academic activities on Saturday. “We will continue boycotting classes until our demand is fulfilled,” Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury, president of the Teachers Welfare Association, told bdnews24.com. The principal denied the allegations, saying that Prof Abdur Razzak had started the protests after he was not assigned to the post. Prof Abdur Razzak is the vice president of the Teachers Welfare Association.
