Boris Johnson: UK working for safe repatriation of Rohingyas


British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has said the United Kingdom is working for the safe repatriation of the Rohingyas from Bangladesh to Myanmar. He made the statement after visiting the Kutupalong and Balukhali Rohingya camps under Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Saturday afternoon. Boris Johnson said: “We want the Rohingyas to return to their home country with honour, citizenship and rights.”“We hope that they will be able to move freely in Rakhine,” he said adding that the UK is Bangladesh on Rohingya crisis. Earlier in the day, the British foreign secretary Boris Johnson arrived in Cox’s Bazar around 1pm. At least 700,000 Rohingyas entered Bangladesh fleeing the violence which erupted in Myanmar on August 25, 2017.
