In Chubut Province teachers had their first day of strike yesterday and are on strike today as well. School’s out for approximately 3.3 million children in the province of Buenos Aires due to a teachers’ strike over salaries today. In Entre Ríos Province, the Teachers’ Guild Association (Agmer) is going on strike today as well for 24 hours like their colleagues in Buenos Aires. This is the first massive teachers’ strike in the province. On his end, Buenos Aires Province Education Minister Alejandro Finocchiaro condemned the strike on Radio Mitre this morning, saying it, “transgresses the rights of [low-income] students,” who rely on public schools for their education.
