Congressional Index States Inflation In Argentina Rose 2.4 Percent In July

According to figures released by the national Congress, inflation in the month of July rose by 2.4 percent for the country as a whole. The national statistics bureau (INDEC) is set to release its own index today. The lawmakers were making reference to the fact that the institute was considered untrustworthy beginning in 2007 when inflation statistics plunged overnight following the dismissal of several key authorities. Ever since then, INDEC was criticized for presenting less-than-accurate figures on inflation, poverty and the economy at large. This is the year with the highest numbers ever since the current inflationary process started in 2007,” states the report.
