One transgender teacher makes a point of telling students about the process of gender transitions, including with personal testimony. Long, who is transgender, frequently discusses gender ideology with students, teaches that gender is a spectrum rather than a binary, and shares his own sex change experience. In Florida and several others states, educators are restricted in teaching about gender identity, but elsewhere, teachers are embracing the topic as the number of transgender and gender nonbinary children rises. “We don’t say a penis belongs to a man,” he told The Washington Post.
