A relief teacher is facing a charge of misconduct for a remark he allegedly made to a student in his class. A Nelson teacher charged with misconduct over an inappropriate comment to a student says another student made the remark. The relief teacher is alleged to have told a student in his class at a Nelson secondary school he would slap him "with my d...". In explanation that student said: "During class I raised my hand and said, 'I have finished miss', as my teacher is usually female". Following the incident, the student said he did not remember anything else about the class or the rest of the school day.
