LAHAD DATU: A teacher received 17 stitches on her forehead after being hit with a stone by a student on Monday afternoon. The 23-year-old teacher is reported to be stable after receiving treatment at Hospital Lahad Datu, said Sabah police commissioner Datuk Ramli Din. The suspect was apprehended by teachers and security personnel at the school after the 1.50 pm incident, and was handed over to the police. "The suspect hit the teacher because he feared she had caught him in the act of stealing her money. "He is now being remanded under Section 393/394 (attempt to commit robbery / voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Penal Code," he said.
