Tasman heap more misery on Taranaki with emphatic win in Nelson ROBERT VAN ROYENSKY SPORTAndrew Makalio scores two fine tries for Tasman in their 53-17 thrashing of Taranaki in Nelson. Taranaki were just fortunate Mitch Hunt missed a couple of penalty goals right out in front. Taranaki finally managed to string more than a couple of phases together shortly after the halftime break, only for Tasman captain David Havili to land a right-hook. Taranaki first-five eighth Ciarahn Mato finally cracked the host's defence when he glided over in the 59th minute, but it wasn't long before Tasman had their fifth try. After Taranaki scored a consolation five-pointer through Kane Thompson, Tasman fullback Will Jordan and wing Solomon Alaimalo darted over in quick succession to raise the half ton.
