Joy Baker and Kelly Sutherland of Taranaki won their categories at the Ironman 70.3 event in Taupō recently. Joy Baker and Kelly Sutherland both crossed the finish line first in their categories at the recent Taupō Ironman 70.3 event - and both were surprised with their wins. Baker won the female 65-69 category, beating the next competitor by 38 minutes. As a result, she has now qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in November, 2020, as has Sutherland. Both women have always beenathletic, with Sutherland estimating this had been her fifth go at Ironman 70.3.
