A call-out to a residence near the Checkers Fast Food shop in Bell Block has resulted in serious criminal charges being laid against a 58-year-old man. A Taranaki man is facing attempted murder charges in the wake of an emergency services call-out to reports of a gas leak. Court documents show a 58-year-old man, from Bell Block, near New Plymouth, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. The people he is alleged to have tried to kill are a man and a woman. He is due back in the New Plymouth District Court on June 28 when it is understood he will make an application for bail.
