The reservoir is set to come up on a 0.400-acre plot behind the Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre and near water tank number 5. The new reservoir will store water that will come from the water treatment plant in New Town, an official in the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation said. The pipes that will carry the water to the reservoir are stacked near the plot but work cannot start because the settlers are refusing to leave. According to the plan, the reservoir will store a part of the eight million gallons of water the township will get from the New Town water treatment daily.
