Speaking on the incident, Bhuapur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rashidul Islam said: “We are investigating the matter with utmost importance. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid an untoward situation.”On Monday night, police arrested Srabon Haldar, a resident of Gobindashi village under Bhuapur upazila, from Sirajganj after he allegedly made derogatory remarks about Islam on Messenger. Earlier, local Muslims in Gobindashi village vandalized Srabon's house after Srabon's friends spread the post on Facebook, sources said.
