The auction for the final piece, a spectacular baseball glove, ends on March 31st. “[The Norway collection] is by far the greatest pre-1940s baseball glove find, bar none.” says Joe Phillips, a hobby veteran who authenticates professional baseball gloves for Heritage Auctions. At its peak, in the early 1920s, D&M boasted in an ad that 80 percent of big leaguers were using its baseball gloves. The Ruth D&M from Norway fetched $11,600, the highest price of anything in the find.
