Talented runner Camryn Smart catching up with her Olympian mum

A sprinter as a kid, 19-year-old Camryn Smart has moved up to the 400m distance and is now ranked No.2 in the country, behind her best friend and flatmate Izzy Neal. Camryn Smart is proving herself as one of NZ's top 400m runners this summer – helped by a rivalry with her flatmate, and some competition from her Olympian running mum. For Camryn Smart – daughter of 1996 Olympic 800m finalist Toni Hodgkinson and national decathlete and 400m hurdler Alistair Smart – it's pretty special having Dad on the stopwatch while she chases down Mum at training on Moteuka’s grass track.
