Türkiye and Ethiopia have signed multiple agreements aimed at expanding economic, trade, and energy cooperation, marking a new phase in bilateral relations between the two countries. Türkiye is already among the leading foreign investors in Ethiopia, with Turkish companies active in textiles, construction, and industrial zones. Ethiopia, which possesses vast hydropower potential and is expanding renewable capacity, is seeking international partnerships to modernize its energy infrastructure and boost electricity access. Turkish officials noted that energy cooperation could include joint feasibility studies, training programs, and potential Turkish private sector participation in power generation and distribution projects. Ethiopia, one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies in recent years despite internal challenges, views Türkiye as a key economic partner capable of contributing to industrialization and infrastructure development.
