Synlait forecasts big profit jumpGrahame CoxSynlait Milk is forecasting a $24 million lift in earnings for the 2016 year to a range of $34-$35 million. Net profit after tax the previous year was $10.6m and underlying net profit was $12.2m. Synlait's gross profit per metric tonne is estimated to be $880m per tonne, compared with $593m per tonne in 2015. The Canterbury dairy processor said underlying net profit after tax for the year ending July 31 was forecast to be in the range of $32-$33m. He said 2016 operating cash flows would be about $100 million compared to $16.3 million the previous year.
