The deceased has been identified as the 21-year-old Gori Mohammed Wasim, a fourth year student of Sylhet Agricultural University's Biotechnic and Genetic Engineering Department. The incident occurred on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Sylhet's Sherpur on Saturday. They wanted to get off at Sherpur when the helper pushed Wasim off the bus and killed him." Wasim suffered serious injuries and died on his way to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, the vice chancellor said. The bus was later seized at Sylhet's Begumpur but the driver and his helper escaped, said Kamrul Hassan, in-charge of the Sherpur Highway Police Outpost.
