A MAN has retired after 25 years teaching swimming at Trinity Trainer Pool. Tony Potterton, 66, was surrounded by family, friends and students at a party following his final lesson on Saturday afternoon. Mr Potterton completed a three-year agricultural course at Berkshire Agricultural College before returning to his native Ireland, where he met Mrs Potterton. Mr Potterton put his success as a swimming teacher down to a gentle approach and meeting people where they are. He taught both my kids to swim at Trinity Trainer Pool and they loved their lessons with him.
