Meanwhile, the MIDC police registered a case of attempt to murder against unidentified persons under the Indian Penal Code and initiated investigations. The police sent a team to the Swiggy head office in Andheri to try and identify the assailant, and found that Swiggy has 1,800 male employees. Based on the information learnt from Samant’s interrogation, the police sent a team to Rajasthan and arrested Kanna Swami Durai Kannan Chinnaswamy, who had allegedly enlisted Samant for the murder. “The motive behind the hit seems to be a personal rivalry and is being verified,” the officer said.
