The name, Backward Class Residential Schools now sound like a misnomer. The Telangana region had only 23 residential schools and 10 junior colleges for BC students till June 1 and in just 40 days, 119 residential schools have been added. A number of engineering college buildings and other college buildings that had been closed down and other properties identified by the respective district collectors were hired and made suitable for the residential schools. Ready soonThe schools will be ready in every way by July-end as in some schools, furniture was still being provided and toilets constructed. It was quite a coordinated effort by the BC Welfare Residential Educational Institutions society with its limited staff, District BC Development officers of all 31 districts and the BC Welfare department .
