The incident took place in the Rahmatpur Kanagate area of Jessore Sadar upazila around 3:30am on Wednesday. Jessore Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Apurbo Hasan said: "We conducted a raid when we got information that there was a shootout in the area." The law enforcers found an unidentified bullet-riddled body on the ground and sent it to Jessore General Hospital. He further said police have recovered a one-shooter gun, one round of bullets, two local weapons, a chainsaw and rope from the spot.
