SportThe newly formed Surfing Federation of Sri Lanka (SFSL) will make its maiden international tour as an official unit at the forthcoming Covelong Point Surfing Championships in Chennai, India, from August 16-19. This is the first time a National team is participating in an overseas championship, after all local Surfers were brought under one umbrella, via the Federation. Sri Lanka’s first-ever National Surf competitions were held in Hikkaduwa and Kabalana in early 2018, and was instrumental in building a National ranking table. The SFSL was formed with assistance from Tim Jones of International Surf Association (ISA), who is also the advisor to SFSL. Until that dream comes true, Sri Lanka's Surfers need to stay committed to training and development, and enhance their skills and technique.
