The Supreme Court Monday extended by one week the stay on a Gujarat High Court order quashing 10 per cent reservation in the state for the economically weaker sections, including Patidars who have carried a prolonged agitation for reservation benefits. A bench led by Chief Justice of India T S Thakur also said till the next date of hearing, the state government would be bound by its undertaking before the High Court that no admissions would be made on the basis of 10 per cent reservations.
