Support for Justice Abhay Oka of the Bombay High Court, whom the Maharashtra Government accused of 'harbouring bias' against the State Machinery while hearing a bunch of petitions highlighting noise pollution, is increasing in the legal fraternity. The government had sought to transfer bunch of petitions from Oka to another bench, which Chief Justice Manjula Chellur, allowed. An online petition has also been started to show support and solidarity with Justice Oka. The association has also expressed confidence in the judicial integrity of Oka and urged Chief Justice Chellur to take appropriate action to defibrillate Justice Oka's honour. The Bombay Bar Association has also called for an 'extraordinary general meeting' on Monday to discuss and pass an appropriate resolution about showing support to Justice Oka.
