Scott McLaughlin şet a new lap record for practice at the Bathurst on Thursday, posting a time of 2:03.7728, smashing his previous record of 2:03.8312 around the famous Mount Panorama circuit. McLaughlin's previous lap record was set two years ago, but the new time shows how well the Ford Mustangs are going. Throughout the final practice session McLaughlin showed he had tremendous pace, but towards the end of it produced his incredible record breaking time. After McLaughlin set that previous record two years ago, he went into the race as the red hot favourite, but retired after just 74 laps because of mechanical problems. There is another practice session at 11.05am (1.05pm NZ time), with qualifying taking place at 4pm (6pm NZ time).
