Abidin said as a special officer to the former Sungai Bakap assemblyman, it was his responsibility to prepare questions and speeches for the latter. Abidin, who debuted as an election candidate for the Sungai Bakap by-election, said the water shortage issues in the constituency were important as it has plagued the people for six years now. Pakatan Harapan lawmaker RSN Rayer has alleged during his ceramah at Sungai Bakap that Nor Zamri has never brought up water issues during the state assembly sessions. He challenged any Perikatan leader to present any evidence that the former Sungai Bakap assemblyman had ever debated the water issues through newspaper reports or videos. Meanwhile updating on the progress of his campaign, Abidin said the response so far from Sungai Bakap voters has been encouraging.
