The former Manchester United man was arrested on Saturday after his £75,000 Mercedes car allegedly smashed into multiple parked cars. Images on social media showed Gibson speaking to police officers and Northumbria Police confirmed a 30-year-old man had been arrested. Sunderland have launched an investigation and suspended Gibson with immediate effect. A spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving over the legal alcohol limit and he is currently in police custody.
