Our Special CorrespondentSonarpur: A woman who was arrested on charges of plotting her husband's murder 10 days after she was seen wailing over his bullet-ridden body in Sonarpur allegedly tried to commit suicide in a police lock-up on Sunday morning. Madhumita was lodged in a lock-up for women accused at Sonarpur police station after being remanded in police custody by a Baruipur court on Saturday. An inquiry has been initiated to find out how the blade reached Madhumita in the lock-up. Madhumita had initially been remanded after being produced in court with the other accused, Chandan Mondal. Madhumita had kept the door to the house ajar and Chandan allegedly fired from outside.
